I think it may well – anything that is a have-to almost immediately loses it’s appeal. 🙂 I forged weekly creative notes at school to avoid PE, then joined the gym when I got to uni… Poetry just needs to be forbidden now to really increase the participation rate.

It’s taken a few days for this one to sink in…no poetry? So anything that provokes thought or connection to your inner self is to be taken off the syllabus? And then the victims of the shit education system will say the poets are the evil elite. Or hopefully like you said, they’ll take poetry underground, or to the streets!
