side two of beggars banquet.

the very last words that she heard

were, “hey, man! they’ve just landed!”

it was late one night in ‘69

we laid her out on a big blue blanket.

we carried her down

to the beach

through the town,

there was a storm brewing on the atlantic.

(the needle fell and i heard the sound of side one of beggars banquet)

the congregation knelt

and sam took a bow.

he read some lines by the great romantic.

the sand flew around

the seagulls frowned

he had a smile that would thrill any dentist.

they found footprints on the moon –

no one could quite explain it.

she left no breath on the spoon –

no one could quite explain it.

(then the needle fell and i heard the sound of side two of beggars banquet)

    1. Cool! Thanks, Singledust! It’s a repost, but poignant to the Lunar landings I guess. I have been trying to work this into a song – so your kind words have spurred me on! Peace, Nick.
